Day 01 LIMA - IQUITOS - AMAZON RIVER
Sunday
Upon arrival in Iquitos, transfer to one of the cruise boats, where you will enjoy first class accommodation for a full seven days. After boarding, we set sail on the most incredible journey into natural history. That very same day, as we travel along the Amazon, the sky and breeze overwhelm us facing an extraordinary view that mingles with nature.

Day 02 AMAZON RIVER - UCAYALI RIVER
Monday
A very early awakening on the majestic Amazon River increases our perception of the tropical rain forest. Occasional fishermen paddling in their canoes made of hollow tree trunks and the children living in the villages along the riverbanks greet us with smiles, while a variety of birds such as the Oriole Blackbird, Purple Gallinule and Yellow-headed Caracara share this friendly environment with us. We reach the meeting of the Marañon and Ucayali Rivers located 2,400 ml to the west of the Atlantic Ocean, where the Amazon River adpts its name. We continue sailing along the left branch of the river, that is the Ucayali River, where the Pacaya-Samiria National reserve is located on our right hand side. One of the major attractions and characteristics of this river is the abundance of Gray and Pink river dolphins that are swimming close to our boat.

Day 03 UCAYALI RIVER - PUINAHUA RIVER
Tuesday
As our voyage continues, we venture onto small excursion speedboats to explore the smaller tributaries with black water that lead us into the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve in search of a variety of animal wildlife such as monkeys, sloth and a wide variety of exotic birds that are at common sight. After dinner we undertake an evening excursion in search of mammals such as bats, amphibians and reptiles such as the capybara, black caiman, poisonous frogs and countless other species.

Day 04 PACAYA - SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE

Wednesday
We awake in The Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, the largest and most untamed wetland in Peru, home of an abundant biodiversity. We easily spot the white necked herons, capped herons (tumuy tumuy), wattled jacanas (jacna jacana) and sun bitterns. Scarlett macaws fly by in pairs and playful troops of the so-called squirrel monkeys are observed. Way above on the tree tops along the river, one may see howler monkeys gathered in small family groups. More than 200 species of birds, 10 species of primates, spectacular caimans and many other mammals can be observed in single outing. We spend the entire day here and enjoy a picnic lunch at the Park Ranger Station before returning to the cruise boat that continues its journey toward the Ucayali River.

Day 05 UCAYALI RIVER - MARAÑON RIVER
Thursday
That morning is spent visiting a riverbank village where we are able to show our bargaining skills with the natives who approach us, selling their handicrafts made from natural jungle materials. After lunch, we board the excursion vessels in search for giant aquatic plants called Victoria Regia giant water lily, while the cruise boat continues its voyage towards the Amazon Natural Park Lodge. By sunset we reach our destination, where we see flying fishing bats beginning their evening hunt.

Day 06 MARAÑON RIVER - AMAZON NATURAL PARK LODGE
Friday
An early morning walk along a winding tail takes us to explore the rain forest along a suspension bridge, providing the exclusive opportunity of observing Jungle animal life in the treetop canopies. Later, we enjoy outdoor activities such as swimming or paddling in a native canoe on the lake close to the Lodge. That afternoon we begin our trip back to Iquitos, while the musicians of our crew entertain us during a farewell dinner.

Day 07 AMAZON RIVER - IQUITOS - LIMA
Saturday
After breakfast, our happy voyage ends upon arrival in Iquitos at 9 a.m. We go ashore to embark on a guided tour through the city and a visit to a local handicraft market on the way to the airport to take your flight to Lima. You may continue with the extension of your choice.
